2026 Celebrating 10 Years of Carshalton Artists Open Studios
Carshalton Open Studios is being celebrated for 10 years of open studios. I am happy to announce that I am one of 10 Golden Artists as I have taken part in every CAOS since the beginning in 2017. We started with 30 artists and there are now almost 80 taking part this year.
Visit the website and socials for more details of this great event.

Golden Bee bowl

In keeping with the theme of Golden Artists this year I have been using a new gold glaze which I have recently discovered and used for some of my ceramic work.
As you can see with this bee bowl made for thirsty bees, there is an element of gold pebbles for the bees to land on. This is a limited edition and I will be producing more of these bowls to enhance a garden setting, make the bees happy and be a pleasing sight all at the same time.
CAOS Preparation
It takes some months to prepare new work for the annual open studios and here is some work which I will be exhibiting. This includes some new vases with new glaze combinations and colours. I have had to experiment quite extensively as the vase glazes can run and stick onto the kiln shelf. Not a pretty sight!
I have also produced some new pendants using gold glaze and lace imprints which I am looking forward to showing.
Further imprinting on porcelain of plants and flowers has produced some interesting work which is mounted on canvases.
Open studios is a good thing for inspiration and creativity as it encourages you to think of some new ideas, Getting feedback from visitors is also very helpful.
